Three Tea Garden Scenes · Tea Bud

Before a word of tea, the garden has grown quiet. Three Tea Garden Scenes · Tea Bud uses natural brass. A tea sprig rises along the left rim, its two serrated leaves meeting a small central bud. A stone at the lower right holds the scene still. The shared classic softly four-lobed mokko outline, thin smooth rim and fine inner line gathers the composition. Warm natural brass throughout is shaped by fine lines and shallow relief. Only a leaf at the upper right and a fine twig at the lower left remain. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and coordinated fittings connect the two faces. Each has its own balance of detail and open space, while sharing the material, palette and decorative language of Three Tea Garden Scenes.
