Three River Boats · Crossing the Current
A small boat, a long expanse of water. Three River Boats · Crossing the Current uses colored brass. An empty skiff crosses the lower right, its resting oar following the current lines below. A pale ribbon of mist separates near and far. The shared rounded rectangular outline slightly taller than wide, fine inner border, thin warm-brass rim gathers the composition. Deep-brown colored brass with warm-brass relief and restrained silver-white accents is shaped by fine lines and shallow relief. Only a short oar motif at the lower left and a small mist curl at the upper right remain. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and coordinated fittings connect the two faces. Each has its own balance of detail and open space, while sharing the material, palette and decorative language of Three River Boats.
