Pixiu Guardian · Returning to the Vault

Order in a small space, guardianship given form. Pixiu Guardian · Returning to the Vault uses natural brass, compact shallow-relief beast forms and geometric corner engravings within a thin rounded-square rim. A Pixiu sits along the right rim and looks left, its two forelegs upright and its hindlegs folded naturally. A small uninscribed seal at lower left and a short cloud above complete its return to the vault. A fine satin field and natural metallic highlights bring out the beast and angular lines. The reverse retains one small uninscribed seal at upper left and one small cloud at lower right. A plain central field and single tapered aperture remain clear. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared material and ornament.
