Phoenix Splendor · Resting in Paulownia
Flowing feathers, a scene of their own. Phoenix Splendor · Resting in Paulownia shares the collection’s four-lobed outline, deep vermilion colored brass and restrained warm-brass feather accents. A single phoenix perches on a slender paulownia branch at right, turning its crested head toward upper left; two long tail ribbons follow the lower rim, with quiet open space above left. Shallow feather relief meets fine lines, while a single central mounting aperture leaves a continuous metal field for the ornament and open space. The reverse retains a small paulownia leaf at lower right and one short feather at upper left. The primary motif and simpler reverse echo one another. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows, plain warm-brass fittings and thin spacers continue the shared visual rhythm of Phoenix Splendor.
