A dragon turns and a phoenix opens its wings; their motifs answer one another. Dragon and Phoenix Harmony · Unfurling Phoenix uses colored brass. The phoenix holds its head at the upper left and opens a wing toward the upper right. Three tail feathers turn around the lower left, with warm brass touching the crest and feather tips. The shared near-circular outline, thin rounded graphite rim with four narrow warm-brass bands gathers the composition. Graphite-black colored brass with restrained warm-brass accents is shaped by fine lines and shallow relief. Three feather lines at the upper right and a small feather eye at the lower left echo the front. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and coordinated fittings connect the two faces. Each has its own balance of detail and open space, while sharing the material, palette and decorative language of Dragon and Phoenix Harmony.
