Two Autumn Fruits · Persimmon Branch
Branches hold the season; autumn fruit grows round. Two Autumn Fruits · Persimmon Branch uses natural brass. A short branch at the upper right carries a single round persimmon. Its four-lobed calyx meets two leaves, leaving the lower left clear. The shared rounded ginkgo-fan silhouette, broad softly scalloped upper arc, gently rounded narrow lower end, continuous thin rim gathers the composition. Warm natural brass throughout is shaped by fine lines and shallow relief. Only a small calyx at the lower left and fine leaf veins at the upper right remain. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and coordinated fittings connect the two faces. Each has its own balance of detail and open space, while sharing the material, palette and decorative language of Two Autumn Fruits.
