A line of bamboo, a stone without words. Bamboo and Stone · Stone Stillness uses natural brass. A broad low rock rests at the lower right, balanced by slender grass and wind lines on the left. The shared softly asymmetrical LEAF-OVAL outline, gently pinched but fully ROUNDED top and bottom, broad continuous thin rim, no sharp tips gathers the composition. Warm natural brass throughout is shaped by fine lines and shallow relief. Rock grain at the upper left and fine grass at the lower right echo the front. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and coordinated fittings connect the two faces. Each has its own balance of detail and open space, while sharing the material, palette and decorative language of Bamboo and Stone.
