A journey among clouds, with a scene in every step. Celestial Steed · Returning to the Clouds uses navy-blue colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and shallow relief. A thin four-lobed mokko rim echoes the continuous cloud ribbon below. A horse rests slightly right of the lower arc, its four legs naturally folded beneath its body and its head raised gently toward the left. A small cloud at upper left and the continuous cloud ribbon below suggest a quiet return. A plain central field and single tapered aperture give the horse and clouds room to unfold. The reverse retains one small cloud at upper left and two short wind lines at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared material and ornament.
