Tides rise and fall; water finds its own form. Four Ocean Tides · Returning Eddy uses colored brass. Three nested eddies gather at the lower left, their ends marked by two warm-brass touches. Fine currents at the upper right meet the open field. The shared original softly scalloped wave-circle outline with four very broad shallow wave lobes, smooth thin rim gathers the composition. Graphite-black colored brass with restrained warm-brass accents is shaped by fine lines and shallow relief. A small eddy at the upper right and fine currents at the lower left continue the movement. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and coordinated fittings connect the two faces. Each has its own balance of detail and open space, while sharing the material, palette and decorative language of Four Ocean Tides.
