Xiezhi · Approaching the Steps
A single horn toward the light, open space in balance. Xiezhi · Approaching the Steps uses graphite-gray colored brass, sparse warm-brass lines and a thin circular rim. A Xiezhi approaches left along the upper rim, placing one forehoof on a short step while its other hooves remain staggered. A stepped contour at lower left and a small cloud at lower right frame the pause before movement. One horn, two ears, four cloven-hoofed legs and a single slender tail continue the shared identity, with clear spacing between the upper relief and openings. The reverse retains one short stepped line at upper left and one small cloud at lower right. The central slot and two side apertures remain open in the unmounted guard. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings complete the shared material and ornament.
