Zhulong · Night Passage

An opening gaze, a closing gaze: day and night take form. Zhulong · Night Passage uses purple-black colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and small muted red accents, with shallow relief enclosed by a thin oval rim. A calm human-like face at upper left rests with closed eyes. Its serpentine body turns along the left rim toward the lower arc, leaving an open night sky beneath a slim crescent and three small stars at upper right. A plain field surrounds the single central aperture, giving the long figure and celestial motifs room to unfold. The reverse retains one slim crescent at upper right and three small star marks at lower left. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared palette and ornament.
