Xiezhi · Listening to the Rain
A single horn toward the light, open space in balance. Xiezhi · Listening to the Rain uses graphite-gray colored brass, sparse warm-brass lines and a thin circular rim. A Xiezhi rests along the upper rim, raising its head gently to the left with its four legs folded naturally. Three fine rain strokes at lower left and a small cloud at lower right bring a slight movement to the quiet pose. One horn, two ears, four cloven-hoofed legs and a single slender tail continue the shared identity, with clear spacing between the upper relief and openings. The reverse retains three fine rain strokes at upper left and one small cloud at lower right. The central slot and two side apertures remain open in the unmounted guard. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings complete the shared material and ornament.
