Zhulong · Dusk Settling

An opening gaze, a closing gaze: day and night take form. Zhulong · Dusk Settling uses purple-black colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and small muted red accents, with shallow relief enclosed by a thin oval rim. A human-like face at upper right closes its eyes and inclines slightly toward the lower left. Its serpentine body curves along the right rim, with a half-sun sinking behind a short ridge at upper left and two quiet wind lines below. A plain field surrounds the single central aperture, giving the long figure and celestial motifs room to unfold. The reverse retains one setting-sun motif at upper left and two short wind lines at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared palette and ornament.
