Sacred Deer · Bearing Lingzhi

A deer enters the grove, with lingzhi close by. Sacred Deer · Bearing Lingzhi uses tea-brown colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and restrained shallow relief, with woodland motifs enclosed by a thin round rim. A deer stands slightly left of the upper arc, facing right with a single short-stemmed lingzhi in its mouth. Four hooves rest on a fine rock line, while sparse grass strokes below balance the open field. A plain central field and single tapered aperture give the deer, antlers and lingzhi room to unfold. The reverse retains one small lingzhi at upper left and sparse grass at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared material and ornament.
