Xiezhi · Looking Back

A single horn toward the light, open space in balance. Xiezhi · Looking Back uses graphite-gray colored brass, sparse warm-brass lines and a thin circular rim. A Xiezhi walks left along the upper rim and turns its head back to the right, drawing its single tail into a gentle curve. One leaf at lower left and two short wind lines at lower right continue the turn. One horn, two ears, four cloven-hoofed legs and a single slender tail continue the shared identity, with clear spacing between the upper relief and openings. The reverse retains one small leaf at upper left and two short wind lines at lower right. The central slot and two side apertures remain open in the unmounted guard. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings complete the shared material and ornament.
