Mountains and seas take form; wondrous creatures enter the guard. Beasts of Mountains and Seas · Zheng Watching the Valley uses an upright oval outline and black-brown colored brass. Warm-brass lines and small silver-white and muted red details continue the collection’s shared material direction. Zheng rests on a low stone along the lower rim, its leopard-shaped body facing left and a single horn pointing forward. Five long tails curl separately from its right hindquarters toward sparse peaks above. Shallow relief surrounds a single central aperture, with the whole composition enclosed by a plain thin rim. The reverse retains two short ridges at upper left and five short arcs at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings echo one another.
