Serpent Moon · Beside Still Water

The moon rests in open space; the serpent moves through curves. Serpent Moon · Beside Still Water uses emerald-green colored brass, fine warm-brass scales and restrained shallow relief. A thin upright elliptical rim frames the quiet moonlit field. A serpent turns downward along the left rim, its head dipping gently at lower left and its tail tapering above. Two fine water lines at lower right and a crescent at upper right create a quiet waterside scene. A plain central field and single tapered aperture bring out the changing rhythm of the serpent’s curve. The reverse retains two short water lines at upper left and one slim crescent at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared material and ornament.
