Zhulong · Dawn Awakening

An opening gaze, a closing gaze: day and night take form. Zhulong · Dawn Awakening uses purple-black colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and small muted red accents, with shallow relief enclosed by a thin oval rim. A human-like face at upper left opens its eyes toward the right. The serpentine body descends along the left rim and curves gently across the lower arc, while a small rising sun appears behind a short ridge at upper right. A plain field surrounds the single central aperture, giving the long figure and celestial motifs room to unfold. The reverse retains one short ridge at upper left and one small half-sun motif at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared palette and ornament.
