Sacred Deer · Resting Beneath Pines

A deer enters the grove, with lingzhi close by. Sacred Deer · Resting Beneath Pines uses tea-brown colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and restrained shallow relief, with woodland motifs enclosed by a thin round rim. A deer rests slightly left of the lower arc, with its four legs naturally folded beneath its body and its head raised to the right. A fine pine sprig descends at upper left, balanced by a small lingzhi at lower right. A plain central field and single tapered aperture give the deer, antlers and lingzhi room to unfold. The reverse retains one fine pine sprig at upper left and one short rock line at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared material and ornament.
