Sacred Deer · Drinking From the Spring

A deer enters the grove, with lingzhi close by. Sacred Deer · Drinking From the Spring uses tea-brown colored brass, fine warm-brass lines and restrained shallow relief, with woodland motifs enclosed by a thin round rim. A deer stands along the left rim and lowers its neck toward a shallow spring at lower right. Its four legs are staggered, with a single lingzhi beside a rock and two fine water lines opening around it. A plain central field and single tapered aperture give the deer, antlers and lingzhi room to unfold. The reverse retains two short water lines at upper left and one small lingzhi at lower right. Black wrapping, ivory diamond windows and plain warm-brass fittings continue the collection’s shared material and ornament.
