Five Peaks, One Horizon

Five mountains, five ways of looking into the distance.

Five Peaks, One Horizon takes its names from Mount Tai, Mount Hua, Mount Heng in the south, Mount Heng in the north and Mount Song, translating their mountain imagery into five tsuba landscapes. A rounded-square outline, deep-brown colored brass, warm-brass ridgelines and restrained silver-white mist connect the collection. Each composition develops its own heights, spacing and center of gravity within the shared palette and border.

Mount Tai gathers broad layered ridges, Mount Hua introduces sharp peaks and a diagonal crest, Southern Mount Heng lets gentler ranges recede into depth, Northern Mount Heng offsets a cliff against an opening of cloud, and Mount Song builds a measured rhythm of upright peaks. A short ridgeline and sparse clouds echo each landscape on the reverse.
